Whitley Park Primary School Workshops

Create workshops and peer support. Funded by Berkshire Community Foundation
Over 4 weeks in March this year at Whitley Park Primary School, we ran workshops with a fantastic group of mothers* and parents.
Each session focused on something different:
Sewing skills – trying something practical and building confidence
Mindfulness arts & crafts – including a session on letting go and recognising what we carry
Stones of positivity – creating small pieces to share with others
A skills swap – where participants shared their own knowledge and experiences. We learned about plant propagating, henna designs, knitting skills, and so much more
What really made the course so special was the mix of people who came along. With different backgrounds and cultures in the room, each session brought new perspectives, ideas, and conversations.
It was also a chance to take a bit of time out - to chat, connect, and learn from each other in a relaxed and supportive space.
A huge thank you to Sarah and Whitley Park Primary & Nursery School for hosting and supporting these sessions, and to Berkshire Community Foundation for funding this programme. We’d love to run more sessions like this in schools, creating space for mums who really need a bit of time for themselves.
And finally, thank you to everyone who took part and made it what it was
*when we use the word mother, we refer to anyone who has experienced pregnancy, given birth, adopted, identifies as a mother or as a woman or non-binary carer ~ you are all very welcome in our space
