My hips have permanently widened 

My boobs and my belly have stretched 

My feet are a whole one size bigger 

But these changes bring me no regrets  

My body is fucking amazing 

It brings me such pleasure and joy 

You can say I’ve let go 

But I’d like you to know 

That’s a term that I aim to destroy  

I call out the ridiculous pressure 

On the mums whether new or ‘old’ pros 

We carry and hold such a huge mental load 

How we’ve coped for so long Lordy knows?!  

So now is the time where this has to stop 

Less competing and shaming of others 

I’ll tell you a word that the world needs to learn It’s ‘Matrescence’ 

and it’s all about MOTHERS
